What children learn at school shapes the way they see the world.
When children are raised with strong moral foundations, they grow into capable, resilient, and generous citizens.
Moral values in schools are crucial for developing students’ character, promoting respect, empathy, and integrity. They foster social cohesion, support ethical decision-making, and strengthen emotional intelligence.
Research confirms it.
According to a large, new peer-reviewed study out of Harvard (April 14, 2024) published in Educational Psychology Review.
Private and religious schools outperform public schools in forming upstanding citizens with
- more tolerance toward others
- were more engaged,
- willing to serve,
- and volunteer.
Private education improved civic engagement by 5.5%.
Religious education boosted outcomes by 7.6% of a standard deviation.
